CHILD DROWNED

Douglas McArthur. 6-year-old son of Samuel McArthur, of 10 Arthur park, was drowned in seven feet of water In the lower Allston marshes, off Western avenue last Saturday afternoon. The tragedy was wltneased by Douglas' brother, who was playing on a raft with him, and by two other boy companions, who were on the shore of the large pond In which the lad lost his life. Douglas and Samuel were balancing themselvea on the raft The former lost his balance and fell In. The brother, terror stricken, was unable to do anything to save him. Employees of the Cambridge Electric Light Co., nearby, notified the Metropolitan Park police and Officer Mercer of the hnetn station procured a boat and grappling Iron and recovered the body.
