Maude M. Brown emigrated in 1894 to Massachusetts. Her parents, Thomas and Hannah, lived with her from 1908 to 1910. She was the owner of a restaurant in Natick Massachusetts, the People's Dining Room, until 1923. The restaurant was a rooming house as well as her own home. Some of the restaurant's waitresses boarded with her.

Maude M. Brown was last listed in 1923 as the proprietor of The People’s Dining Room at 39 South Avenue in the Natick Lists of Residents 1923-1931. She was not in the 1931 Natick directory.

Redlands Resident for 6 years...Death yesterday claimed Mary Maude Brown, 55 years old, who had resided in Redlands six years. She was a native of Prince Edward Island, Canada. Deceased is survived by four brothers and sisters, Mrs Sippel of Illinois, Mrs Fleet of Massachusetts, Thomas Brown of Massachusetts and James Brown of Prince Edward Island.
