Ramsay, Edward Longfellow
Birth Name | Ramsay, Edward Longfellow |
Gender | male |
Age at Death | 68 years, 10 months, 10 days |
Narrative
Edward was born on the Island around 1837.
Even though Edward gave the names of his parents on his marriage records, I have been unable to place Malcolm Ramsay and Helen or Ellen Taylor with any of the Ramsay families I have been outlining in this tree. If he was the son of Malcolm and Catherine, who had a son Edward, then it is said that his mother died around the time of his birth. Edward may have mixed up his mother's name with that of another relative.
There was also Malcolm Ramsay and Eleanor Boyle, who could have had a son named Edward in 1837. No family histories mention this as a possibility.
Another possibility is that Catherine Reilly Ramsay died before 1837, and the younger children were the children of Malcolm and a second wife - also not proven with available records.
An Edward Ramsay, son of Malcolm, was baptized on 10 July 1836.
