Son of Donald Ramsay and Flora Hardy. John was age 3 in the 1881 census, in Lot 3 Prince Edward Island.

One family tree on Ancestry said his wife was Margaret George, and there is a marriage of John McLeod Ramsay and Margaret George in Alberta in 1907.

John was in Edmonton when his mother died. He was likely the John M. Ramsay with wife Margaret living in Edmonton in 1916, with children Elmer, age 6, Evelyn or Evelina, age 5; and Margaret Ramsay age 1. They had another son Arthur, in the 1921 census.

Elmer George Ramsay son of Mr and Mrs John M Ramsay of 11246 94 St., died Oct 3 1935 at age 26. He was survived by a sister Evelyn, and a brother Arthur.

John McLeod Ramsay died at age 90 in Edmonton in 1968, leaving son Arthur and daughter Mrs R. D. Thomas, Evelyn. (an earlier notice said at age 69)
