Narrative

George probably used the name Livingston, but I have added an e so that all of the Livingston(e)s will file together. The Livingston family is covered in the book The History and Stories of Clyde River. See also the Livingstons of Clyde River, on the Island Register, by John Collins.

* Will: PEI Wills & Administrations 1807-1900 Wills, Liber 12, Folio 258, Filed 28 May 1889

In his will, GEORGE LIVINGSTON of Queens' Co., farmer directs:

- To my wife Elizabeth Livingston the farm of 55ac. on which I reside fronting on the Baltic Road with all stock and implements. Also another piece of land on the south side of the Baltic Road containing 52 ac. For her natural life so long as she remains single.

- to my eldest son WILLIAM BOYD after his mother's death or marriage, the above farms and stock, if he will stay at home and work the farm. If, after he comes of age, he is unwilling to stay at home, he is to receive $150 and my son JAMES ALBERT shall receive the farms for his use and behoof (sic). If WILLIAM BOYD remains at home, then the second son gets $150 on attaining his majority.

- My other son GEORGE ARCHIBALD shall receive a good education or trade and $100 when he becomes of age.

- To my daughters JANE ROBERTSON and EVA MAY, $100 each to be paid on their marriage or as soon as convenient after. While single they shall have a home on the farm.

Executors are to be his brother BOYD LIVINGSTON and friend Archibald McDonald.

GEORGE made his mark on the 4th of April 1889 witnessed by BOYD LIVINGSTON and MacKieson Dixon.

The will was proved on the 28th of May 1889 on oath of MacKieson Dixon.
