He was the victim of a flash fire in the De Salaberry Munitions Plant at Nitro, Quebec. By his self-sacrifice and devotion to duty in acting quickly to avert an explosion that might have killed many workers her lost his own live. Survived by widowed mother, wife, and four small children. Member of a family of 13 brothers and sisters.
