Daughter of Wallace Wood and Elizabeth Boswell, Rena was a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music. She was a well-known pianist, as well as organist and choir director of Zion Presbyterian Church in Charlottetown before her marriage.

Miss Rena Wood who needs no introduction as she is one of the leading pianists of this city. Miss Wood for the past three years has given her time and talents free to the training of the orphanage children along musical lines...

The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, July 30, 1982 of Mrs. Edwin C. Johnstone
(Nee Rena Wood) of New Haven P.E.I. following a long illness. Mrs. Johnstone was a valued member
of the Abegweit Branch and will be greatly missed by the members. She was a gifted musician, author of
several books and an avid gardener.
