Note
According to church records and the PEI Baptismal Index, Mary Hannah Jane was born March 18 1844 in Charlottetown to George and Hannah Brace. She was most likely one of the daughters between 15 and 21 in the 1861 census of this family, being about 17. She married James McPhail on September 18 1869 in Massachusetts, and they had two sons, only one of whom survived. Mary died in 1880 in Massachusetts.
