Narrative

There were no records for an Elizabeth Brander born around 1818, the date she gave on census records, in the PEI Baptismal Index. In Margate church records, there was an Elizabeth, born or baptized by 1821, daughter of Alexander Brander and mother "Fayer". This couple also had a son John. (James Brander and Ann Taylor, in the same Church records, did not baptize a daughter named Elizabeth.)

Marriage in PEI Marriage Registrations 1852-1857 page 50 - James Mathews and Elizabeth Brander.

She said she emigrated in 1872.

In the 1910 US census she said 6 children, of whom 2 were living. Only Agness and Margaret, born in Margate, were in the PEI Baptismal Index. The two surviving daughters were Agness and Christie.
