About the year 1811 the Rev. Edward Pidgeon was admitted to the pastoral charge of the congregation of St. Peter's, Bay Fortune, and Cove-head,

"A little later Mr Pidgeon of the London Missionary Society travelled extensively about the Bay of Chaleurs...Edward's wife Mary was the eldest sister of Christiana Montgomery Cuthbert, and his grandsons grew up on the farm at New Richmond [Quebec]."..Gaspe of Yesterday

SEPT. 22, 1843, DIED ON THE 10TH INST., SUNDAY, EDWARD PIGEON OF SPRING BROOK, NEW LONDON, FORMER MINISTER OF THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN CONNECTION WITH THE SYNOD OF NOVA SCOTIA.

The Rev. Edward Pidgeon, the other minister, formerly connected with the Independent churches, was originally sent out by the London Missionary Society to the Bay of Chaleur. Mr. Pidgeon remained pastor of this widely-scattered flock when, in consequence of differences between him and his people, the pastoral tie was dissolved. He afterwards resigned his ministerial office, but continued to exemplify the character of a consistent Christian until his death... History of Presbyterianisn on Prince Edward Island by John McLeod said "Mr. Pidgeon, who had been sent out by the London Missionary Society, and was, on application, received by the Presbytery and inducted as pastor of this large
congregation in the spring of 1812. The induction services were performed by Rev. John Keir and Rev. James McGregor. Mr. Pidgeon ministered to this flock until about the year 1820, when circumstances had rendered his resignation advisable."
