Lemuel Wood was born 5 Aug 1887 in Founds Mills, PEI and d. Jun 1966 in Waltham, Middlesex, Mass. The entry for Lemuel, Lily Gertrude and Mildred is incomplete in the 1911 census, as if the information had come from a neighbour.
In 1916, Lemuel signed up for WW1 in Canada, giving his wife's name as "Lilea Gertrude Wood". Lemuel was a carpenter. After the war, Lemuel went to the United States, where he obtained a divorce from Lilly and remarried.
Lemuel's second wife was Alice Adeline Penney, b 8 Feb 1904 in Gardner, Wocester, Mass, d 1985 in Waltham, Middlesex, Mass; they were married in 1924. In the 1940 US census, Lemuel Wood is much older than his wife Alice, and their eldest son Robert is 17. This might explain why his 14 year old daughter Mildred, living on Prince Edward Island, married William Watts.
There was a news note in the local paper in 1960 (Summerside Journal) which said that Mr. Lemuel Wood of Waltham Mass visited his sister Mrs. Sophie Dunning and nephew Glen in Clinton, his brother Garfield in Hunter's River, and his daughter Mrs. William Watts in Charlottetown.
