There passed away in Charlottetown after a lengthy illness on Monday September 11 the late Hugh MacLean at the age of 81 years. the late Mr MacLean a son of the late Donald MacLean and his wife, the late Sarah Ellis was born in Tyne Valley in 1858. He spent his early years in tyne Valley with his parents and when a young man moved to Searletown where he became on of the well known farmers.
In the late Mr MacLean married Janet Campbell of Wellington and to them were born three children, two sons and one daughter. One son and the daughter passed away some years ago and a beloved widow and one son Glane of Timmons Ontario remain to mourn the passing of a loved husband and father.
A few years ago, the late Mr McLean and his widow moved to Charlottetown.
Mr Maclean also leaves to mourn three sisters, Mrs Henry Williams of Elmsdale, Mrs Henry Titchie of Tyne Valley, Mrs thomas Adams of Arlington, PEI and three brothers, William of Ellerslie, Edward and Daniel of Northam. Saturday September 23, 1939 pg 12 Guardian
