Fraser was living with Daniel and Margaret (Campbell) Taylor in the 1901 census, described as an adopted son. In 1911, he and Sarah were in the same household with two children, and he was identified as the nephew of Daniel and Margaret.

According to Daniel Taylor's obituary, Daniel was the brother of Isaac McDougall's second wife, Eleanor Taylor and Fraser was his nephew.

There was no baptismal record for Charles or Fraser McDougall. His gravestone says "C. Fraser" - possible he was the son named Charles, born 1870/71, of Isaac McDougall?

Fraser McDougall died at home on October 29th at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his wife Sadie McAusland, two daughters, Elizabeth of Summerside and Eleanor, Mrs. Briarcombe of Ontario; six sons, Ernest and Ralph of Saint John, NB; Cecil, David, Lloyd and Sheridan at home.
