John Theophilus Linkletter (1833), of Summerside, married Agnes MacLean (1851), of Lot 16, lived in Summerside and operated a hotel, called Vermont House. In 1889 they purchased and moved to this farm in Northam where they lived until 1898 then moving across the road. John T and Agnes Linkletter moved to the store in 1898. John T. kept store while Agnes did dress-making. In 1900 the Post Office was moved from John E. Yeo's with Agnes taking over Post-Mistress duties, these were later taken over by son

Mrs Linkletter with her husband John T. Linkletter were for several years the popular proprietors of the Brunswick Hotel, Summerside. For many years she was the post mistress at Northam. Her one son Ivan survives her.
She was the oldest and last of the family of Roderick and Mrs MacLean, Lot 16, her brother William J. having just passed away one month before her death. She was a sister of Hon. A. E. MacLean, Summerside.
