Charles Alexander's date of birth was given as April 29 1866 in a short biography printed in Reminiscences vol 2 no 6, which added that he was born in Wellington. His date of marriage to Sophia Jane Dyment was given as September 4 1889, in Bradford, Mass.
Charles was a blacksmith, and lost the sight in one eye because of his work.
