Evans, James W. E.. James was born in April 1910. He married Marion Pickering and they had eleven children: Irene, Blair, Elizabeth, Mildred, Lowell, James, David, Linda, Brian, Janet and Justin.

James was a boxer who, in 1936, won the Heavyweight Boxing title of P.E.I. He served oversees in the Second world War with the West Nova Scotia Regiment and returned to farming after the war. He died in 1985.
