David gave date of birth August 4 1857 on the 1901 census. On both the 1901 and the 1911 census, he said he was born on the Island. He could be the David Stewart age 24 and single, in Lot 13 PEI with a married couple James (age 65) and Elizabeth (age 64, born Scotland) Stewart, and Agnes, single, age 19. In 1883, he married Margaret Robertson, from Lot 55. David and Margaret's son David Lemuel Stewart gave date of birth 20 March 1893, and said he was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on all documents. He was living with his father David and his stepmother Ida in 1901.

He leaves to mourn: his widow and daughters Mrs Reagh Williams, Myrtle, Etta, Carrie and Glen, and sons Lem and Clayton, New Hampshire; Ellis and Hartford; one sister Mrs Agnes Dunbar, Saskatchewan; two grandchildren Fern Williams and Marjorie Stewart. Charlottetown Guardian
