Is this the same person as James Campbell Jr, son of James Campbell Sr. of Lot 13, with wife Ann, who signed a land indenture with Yeo in 1849?

James Campbell from Prince Edward Island married Ann Joudry in New Brunswick in 1838; they later settled in Montrose, Lot 3.

1853 - James Campbell, Esq purchases 100 acres of land in Lot 3
1861 - in Lot 3, no children
1891 - James said his father was born in Scotland and his mother on the Island on this census - Margaret Campbell from the Lot 13 Campbells said that both of her parents were born on the Island.
1893 - from Montrose, at the time of the widower James Campbell's marriage to Jemima McArthur Smith
1901 - Will of James Campbell, Montrose named his wife Jemima, and a brother John in Mount Pleasant.

He died in 1901 at the age of 86.

Most family trees say that James Campbell Jr. from Lot 13 had a brother John. This John Campbell predeceased him, in Lot 8.

The James Campbell in Montrose had a brother John Campbell, age 67 in 1881 in Mt Pleasant, Lot 12 , with wife Catherine (McDonald), 49 and children Dougald, 19 Annie 16 and John age 6. He died in 1909 at age 90. His father was born in Scotland, mother in PEI

Son of James and Elizabeth (McDougall) Campbell. .

Married to Ann, according to land documents that James Campbell Jr., son of James Campbell Sr. of Lot 13, signed with James Yeo in 1849. There was no James Campbell in Lot 13 in the 1861 census.

There is a James Campbell living in Montrose who is about the right age. This James married Ann Joudry in New Brunswick, and then they returned to PEI. After Ann's death, he married Jemima McArthur Smith. This James had a brother John, but from the information in his will, his brother John is the John Campbell in Mt Pleasant, Lot 12, married to Catherine McDonald.

See James Campbell, Lot 3 in this tree. Most family trees say that James Sr.'s son John married Jane Ellen Robinson. If this is so, then the James in Lot 3 cannot be in this family.

 

The James Campbell who married Ann McDermaid seems to have been from another part of the Island - witnesses were Daniel and Peter Campbell, not names from this family.
