Family tree on the Island Register says that Alexander was the son of James Brander and Ann Taylor, and if he was born around 1792 he would fit in that family.
The same tree said he died in New Brunswick in 1894, but there was no entry for him in the newspaper index on the New Brunswick Archives website, and he doesn't appear in census records for 1861 or 1881.
