Notes

Note

Harriot (Harriet) Maud was born in PEI on 1 July 1868, and died there on 25 April 1940 at the age of 72 years. She was the daughter of John and Harriet (Cotton) Dyment.

George Baglole of Northam married Harriet M Dymond, Tyne Valley, on 15 March 1888. Witnesses were Lizzie Cahill and Sarah Crossman, and the marriage was performed by Joseph Cahill, a Baptist minister in Summerside PEI. The family gave their religion as Baptist in subsequent census records.

George and Harriet Maud had eight children. From the history of Northam (There to Here, by R. Newcombe, accessed on Island Lives website):
"-Alice (1889) married Thomas Drummond of Scotland and settled in Alberta. They had seven children: Gladys, Alex, Margaret, George, Willard, Edward and John.
-Watson - no information
-William Henry (1892) married Nellie Cann of Northam and had three sons: Thane, Ralph and Carl. William and Nellie owned and operated the Dominion hotel and livery stable in Summerside
-Albert (1897) married Jessie May Pye of Arlington, where they lived, and had two daughters: Blanche and Maude.
-Blanche and Clarke Horrace did not marry.
-Sadie died young.
-Alfred married Amelia (Gaugan) Walsh of Springhill, N.S., late in life."

In the 1901 census, Alice, William, Watson, Albert, and Hattie were at home. In 1911, William was farming with his father, and Watson was working as a labourer. The family was rounded out with the addition of Sadie, Horace C., Alfred N., and George's father William. In 1916, Albert, age 19, was working on the farm of Thomas Baglole in Saskatchewan. He was drafted in 1917 during the first World War, and at that time was described as being 5 ft. 10 inches, with brown hair and grey eyes. Sadie, their youngest daughter died at the age of 19 years. She had contracted "Flu" the year previously and never recovered. According to her obituary on PEI Ancestry, Sadie was of "a quiet and loving nature." She was survived by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
