BIOGRAPHY of CHARLES ANDREW MAYNARD:
- Lost an eye to the horn of a cow or bull. He had an operation to replace it with a glass eye in Boston. Nathen Ramsay wrote a poem about a party at his brother Daniel's, one verse of which is "There is one thing you can't deny, that Charley Maynard's a walking spy. He sees everything with one eye, all in the house of Daniel." (from a book called "People and Stuff" by R.C. Montgomery.)
