Narrative

After a long illness there passed to her eternal reward on November 3, Nettie J. aged 41 years, beloved and only daughter of Robert Murray, and wife of John W. Ellis, Spring Hill.

In August last she entered the P. C. Hospital for treatment[for anemia] remaining there for some time until she feeling that her time on earth was growing short requested that she be sent home to be at home with her loved ones when the time came. For five weeks she was tenderly nursed and watched over with loving care by her aunt, Mrs. Chas Heckbert and other friends as she hovered on the brink of eternity. She lived all her life in Spring Hill, breathing her her last in the same room in which she was born. "Little Nettie" as she was called by her friends has gone to her heavenly home but has left behind sweet and lasting memories of a Christian woman, and her uplifting for good.

She was a friend to everyone no matter what their position in life might be. although not in robust health for years, she took a keen interest in anything pertaining to the advancement of education or religion. Always gentle and kind she won the respect and love of all who knew her. always a great lover of children, the little ones for miles around seemed to return her affection. Every choice flower or fruit was gathered and taken to her by them and she wished that the flag on the school would not be hoisted at half mast to sadden the children. A short time previous to her death she chose the Hymns for the funeral...She also chose the minister and requested that she be laid to rest beside her mother who predeceased her by fifteen years.
She leaves to mourn their loss a husband, a daughter Enid, two sons Lloyd and Stirling, at home a father and one brother Embleton, all of Spring Hill. ... The pall bearers were Wm. Green, Fulton Dyment, Angus Enman, Alex. Ford, Wesley Smith and Albert Yeo.
