WILLIAM (WILL) CAIN was born 1876 in Springfield, West Prince County, PEI. He married GRACE BERNICE ROSS 17 April 1906 in Dexter, Penobscott County, Maine, USA. They had three children. In 1930, Norman and Lindell were at home with their parents. In 1940, William was a widower and living with his youngest son in St. Albans Town, Somerset, Maine, where he was a farmer.

William Cain, 86, of 229 Willard Avenue, died yesterday at Mitchell Memorial Hospital in Brentwood. He was born in Springfield, PEI February 26 1877, son of Augustine and Elizabeth (Dyment)Cain. A former resident of St. Albans, Maine, where he operated a farm for many years, Mr. Caine moved to Portsmouth 29 years ago to make his home with his son Norman Cain. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Bartlett of Kittery, two sons Norman and Lindell Cain, of Pepperrell, Mass; four sisters, Mrs. Effie Osborne of Hingham, Mass; Mrs. Carrie Boulder, Mrs. Ina Rix and Mrs. Ethel Silliker, all of PEI; a brother George of PEI, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
