Mr. Bertram Ramsay, (Montrose) one of the old timers of racing, is 65 (in 1926).
He and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1929. They had 13 children, 10 living.

BERTRAM H. RAMSAY, a successful farm-er and well known horseman of Lot 3, Prince County, was born in Lot 11 on August 3, 1859, and is a son of Donald and Elizabeth Ramsey. The father also was born in Lot 11, in 1819, and followed farming. He was the father of four children, the subject of this sketch being the first in order of birth; Irene A. became the wife of Crowning Shield, a commercial traveller in Brocton, Canada; Anna L. became the wife of Daniel Squarebriggs, a miller at Montrose, Prince Edward Island, and both are deceased; Ida M. is the wife of Mr. Murphy, a merchant of Worcester, Massachusetts. Elizabeth Ramsey died and subsequently Donald Ramsey married Miss Flora Hardy, and to them were born three children: Arthur C , John M. and Eliza. The father died in 1878 and his wife in 1868. He was a Liberal in politics and served as justice of the peace for many years, while in religion he was a Presbyterian and served effectively a number of years as elder.
There are left to mourn his widow, form. Miss Martha Wright of Bedeque, 5 sons and 5 daughters: Leigh, Havelock, George and Benjamin in Western Canada; Frederick at home; Mrs Fred Ramsay of Hamilton[Haley]; Mrs Russell Matthews of Alberton; Mrs Stewart Demail [Dempsie] of Astoria, Oregon [Maewood]; Mrs John Matthews of Wilkie, Sask and Mrs Marshall [Florence] in the Southern States.
