Edward or Edmund Wallis McARTHUR was born 22 September 1855 the son of Hugh McArthur and Susanna Dyment.

He married Agnes M. Crawford on 11 January 1879 in Prince Edward Island. Aggie, the daughter of Anna Maria Livingstone and John Kirk Crawford, was born 13 September 1857 in West Point, Prince, PE. Edmund's sister Louisa M. McArthur was a witness at the wedding, and Edmund named one of his daughters after his sister.

Edmund and Aggie were in PEI for the 1881, 1891, and 1901 census.

In the 1881 census, Edmund and Aggie were living on the Island with their daughter Lettie, 7 months. Edmund , age 34, said his mother was born in England in the 1891 census. In 1901, the children were Lettie Crawford, True, Lena, Martha and Louise. Lena Marie, Lettie Crawford, True Rankin and Martha Ellen were in the PEI Baptismal Index.

According to US census records, Edmund emigrated in 1885; however, he was in PEI for the 1901 census. Edward McArthur and his brother in law James Nelson Clement were charged in the United States for burning Edward's house, in 1896 - newspaper articles say that Edward bought and furnished the house, and then sent his family back to the Island. It isn't clear from the articles found if he actually went to trial.

Aggie died sometime after the 1901 census and Ned went back to the United States. He married (2) CORA ALICE ROBINSON 2 July 1904 in Mexico, Maine, USA. She was born 12 November 1858 in Cambridgeport, Massachusetts, USA, and died 18 January 1940 in Norwood, Massachusetts, USA.

In the US 1910 census, Edmund was living with his second wife Cora and Martha (23), Louisa (21) and married daughter Lena (26).

Edmund was living in the United States in 1920 with and his daughter Ella, age 32 (Martha Ellen or Louisa?). Also in the household was his brother Duncan, age 67. In 1930, Edmund and Cora were on their own.

Edmund died 11 March 1941 in Norwood, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA.
