COHASSET - Mrs. Bertha Orilla (Souther) Maynard, 87, of 326 King Street died yesterday at the Ripley Road Nursing Home after a long illness.

A lifelong resident of Cohasset, Mrs. Maynard was a member of the Second Congregational church.

Wife of the late Walter Hermon Maynard, she is survived by two sons, Hermon James Maynard of Cohasset and Walter Hermon Maynard Jr. of New Jersey; two daughter, Mrs. Martha Matilda (Maynard) Mello of Norwell and Mrs. Florence Bertha (Maynard) Baker of Rhode Island; 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
