NO FIRM PROOF THAT HE BELONGS WITH THIS BRANCH.

There were no baptismal records for an Angus Ramsay in the PEI Baptismal Index. Angus was a Ramsay family name, so one might have expected to find an Angus in any branch of this family. There were two men named Angus Ramsay, both born on the Island around the same time, and both married and settled in New Brunswick. One Angus was in Bathurst and the other in Newcastle.

A son named Angus was supposed to be in the family of Donald Ramsay and Marie Cannon of Lot 13 - but which one? Both Anguses named a son Donald, so that is not a clue. Another good fit for a son named Angus would be the family of John Ramsay and Margaret Penman. When their daughter Flora married Samuel McAusland, John and Angus Ramsay were witnesses. An Angus Ramsay was a witness at the marriage of James Ramsay (b. 1801) to Agnes Harvey in 1831 in New Brunswick.

Other than his parents, the rest of his life has been docmented.

This Angus Ramsay was born 13 Nov 1811 on PEI, died 5 Mar 1886 at Chatham, NB: he came to NB in Aug 1830: first settled in Newcastle, then in Douglastown, Northumberland County: married 21 Mar 1835 in Chatham, NB, Jane Young Taylor b. 28 Mar 1814 in Northumberland County, died 29 Mar 1879 at Moncton, NB, d/o William John Taylor and Ann Urquhart.

James Ramsay was a witness at the marriage of Angus and Jane.
