On the 1891 census, Elizabeth said her mother was born on the Island, and her father in Scotland.
According to John's obituary, she was Elizabeth Ramsay Stewart, daughter of Robert Stewart of Mount Pleasant, PEI.
Elizabeth died at the home of her son David S. Ramsay in Northam at the age of 79. She had been in failing health for some time, and yet the end came suddenly. She was a woman of sterling character ready to lend a helping hand at all times. She was survived by her daughter, Mrs D. W. Ramsay, Port Hill and four sons - Elmer in Michigan, Talmage in Portland Maine, Colin in Hamilton, Lot 18 and David at home; also one brother Charles Stewart, Mount Pleasant.
