Notes

Note

Although there are no birth or baptismal records for Donald, several records point to Donald M. Ramsay being the son of James Ramsay and Ann Maxfield. On the 1891 census, Donald said his father was born on the Island and his mother in England. This is probably the reason that other family trees place Donald with the family of Donald Ramsay and Elizabeth Grigg, but if his date of birth is correct, he was born several years before their marriage. Ann Maxfield Ramsay was also born in England, and the obituary for her daughter, Mary Ann McMillan, listed Donald or Daniel Ramsay, from Fortune Cove, as a brother, and Daniel M. Ramsay of Fortune Cove was named in his brother Thomas Ramsay's will.

Christina's family lived in Crapaud, and then St. Eleanors, which makes it more likely that her husband was from the Lot 17 Ramsays. A Donald M. Ramsay from St. Eleanor's was on a list of masons in 1871.

Donald, from Lot 5, and Christine were married in 1878.
