Narrative

Fraser M. was born on 16 June 1874, the son of William Mann Jr. and Mary Fraser. His father died when he was three years old, and in the 1881 census, his mother is listed as the head of household and a farmer. According to the book From the Top of the Hill, Fraser purchased a farm in 1899 and he was living there with his sister Melvina and his mother Mary in 1901.
He married Fannie Maude Brander in 1905, and they had four children. Fannie , the daughter of Archibald Brander and Bridget Sheen, died in 1910, and in the 1911 census, Fraser and their three surviving children were living with a servant, Lucy Coles, and her son.
In the 1921 census, Fraser was living with his son William, and a domestic, Fanny Frizzle. The two other children, Archie and Fannie, were living with a Brander Uncle and Aunt.
On maps dated around 1923, Fraser Mann is seen as owning two farms: one the farm he purchased, and the other the original farm of William Mann.
Fraser died in 1943 at the age of 68 years.
