On one census record, Hattie said she emigrated to Massachusetts in 1881, which would explain her not being in the 1881 census with her family, but she must have returned to PEI in time for the 1891 census.
Hattie was in Massachusetts in 1893 when she married James William Fleet. In 1910, they were in Framingham, Mass. where James had a restaurant. The family seems to have gone to Canada for a few years. Her son William gave her address as British Columbia when he filled out a form for the CEF in WW1 in 1919. In the 1920 census, Hattie, age 54, was living with her sister in Illinois.
Harriet Fleet was living with James W. Fleet in Massachusetts in 1930.
