Only one child of Laura Waite and George Buchanan was found in the PEI Baptismal Index, Florrie May Buchanan, born 4 July 1902. In the 1911 census, Laura Buchanan, born November 1882 (age 28), was the head of a household in Lot 6 with children Florrie (1902), John (1904), and Ralph. According to Along the North Shore, Laura was divorced from George, and later married John MacDougall, the son of Alex MacDougall.

From Alex' obituary, we know that John was living in Portage, Prince Edward Island.

It is possible that of the four sons listed in the entry for John MacDougall and Laura Waite in Lot 10 in the 1928 Cummings Atlas of PEI, John and Ralph are Buchanans.

There are left to cherish his memory six daughters, Mrs. James Silliker, Mount Royal; Mrs. John MacDougall and Mrs. Richard Biggar, Enmore; Mrs. Elmer Woodside, Dexter, Maine; Mrs. Horatio Campbell, Mount Pleasant; and Mrs. R. E. Murray, Spring Hill; and two sons, Henry of Lot 11 and Edward on the homestead. He also leave three sisters, Mrs. Charles MacDougall and Mrs. J. E. Robinson, Springfield; and Mrs. Thos. MacArthur, of Mount Pleasant; and two brothers, William of Springfield and John of O'Leary.
