Narrative
Donald Montgomery Johnstone was born in Long River, the only son of the late David Johnstone and Elizabeth Montgomery. for upwards of 40 years he was the proprietor of the well known as Johnstone's Mills at Long River and was known throughout the whole country side as a man of the strictest integrity, singularly beloved for his unassuming manner and kindness of heart and while he made no ostentatious show of giving the poor always found in him a friend and every object for the upbuilding of god's Kingdom received his generous support. Two years ago last October he sold his property in Long River and with his family took up residence near Calgary where he engaged in fox ranching...
There are left to mourn his widow formerly Miss Nettie Clay of Summerside, one son David C at home and five daughters Mrs. McGill of Calgary, Mrs. Archibald Mcleod of Carbon and the Misses Helen, Florence and Mary K. at home. A daughter Marion predeceased her father five years ago. His only surviving sister, Mrs. Ella Campbell resides in Park Corner.
