Narrative

Elsie married Cecil Scott in 1919, but they were not living together in the 1921 Canadian census.

From border crossing records, it looks like Elsie went to the United States with her son in 1930, before her husband died. She was not mentioned in her husband's death/funeral notice.

Elsie was housekeeper for William Allen in Rutland, Massachusetts in 1930. She said she was a widow and had her son Stavert with her. She said she emigrated in 1910.

There is an Elsie Scott living in Worcester, Massachusetts and working as a laundress in the 1940 census, but her son was not with her.
However, there was a Stavert C. Scott living in lodgings in another part of Worcester in the 1940 US census, but his mother is not in the same house.
