There was an Albert J. Phillips living in Harrington, PEI, a farmer, in the 1940 Voter's List. There is a Mrs. AJ, and (perhaps) son Albert E. and wife, Charles and Mrs. Charles and Leighton. In the 1949 Voter's List, Albert J. Phillips is retired and living on the Brackley Point Road. Also on the same list are Albert E., Charles, and Leighton Phillips.
Guardian social note: In 1939, A. J. Phillips, who was for 13 years Chief of Police in Summerside is visiting his daughter Mrs. Albert E. Woodside. It is some years since Mr. Phillips has visited Summerside and he is having a pleasant time.
His obituary was published in the Guardian newspaper. "He was a great reader, had a wonderful memory and kept up to the times with all public affairs and activities. His wife, the former Mary Dyment, predeceased him 11 years ago. "
He was survived by Mrs. George Henderson, Bedeque; Mrs. George Jones, Regina; Mrs. A. Horne, Oyster Bed Bridge; Mrs Harold Stead, Brackley; Charles and Albert of Harrington; Wendell and Leonard, Charlottetown; Layton, Hamilton ON; and Scott, Saskatchewan.
There were several mentions of Albert Phillips in the book Booze by Clinton Morrison.
