Narrative
George was the son of Donald Ramsay and Marie Cannon, according to the marriage record for his marriage to Anne A'Hearn in 1840. He named his first son Donald and first daughter Marie, and then their next two children were named after Anne's parents.
In 1861, George, a farmer was head of household of 10 in Lot 3. There were 2 children under 5 (Peter and Elizabeth); 1 boy and 3 girls between 5-15 (Charles, Margaret Ann, Ann, and either Annabella or Catherine); a boy and a girl, 15-21 (Donald and Marie), and a married couple between 45-60. Donald might have already emigrated to the States, so the oldest boy in the household could have been Joseph.
George was a widower in the 1881 census, in Lot 3.
George said that both of his parents were born on the Island on the 1891 census. His son William J was the head of household at that time.
He was not in the 1901 census, and it is assumed that he died before that date.
