Agnes married James Brander from Alberton in 1866.

Baptismal records for two of their children say they were living in Lot 11 in the 1860s. They emigrated to the United States in 1869 or 1870.

 

In 1880, Agnes and James were living in Boston with their three children, John, Eliza and Herbert, age 4. James was a shipwright.

Agnes was living with her married daughter Eliza in 1900. She said she was a widow.

In 1910, Agnes said she had had been married for 43 years, and had borne 3 children, 2 living.

Agnes and James later lived with their married daughter Eliza Chick, and in the 1920 US census, Agnes was living with her grand-daughter Blanche H. Chick Goss in Everett. James, age 85, was with his married son John A in Everett.

Children of JAMES BRANDER and AGNES ELLIS are:

i. ELIZABETH ANN4 BRANDER, b. 1868; m. CHICK.

ii. JOHN ALEXANDER BRANDER, b. 03 November 1866; d. 25 January 1932, Saugus, Mass.; m. MATILDA J. LEE.

Herbert must be the child who had died.
