Note
Alexander McDougall was the son of Elizabeth McDougall and James Ellis, according to the church records of St. James Anglican Church, Port Hill, and his obituary. Alexander might have been raised by Elizabeth's parents.
On August 29, 1870 Alexander of Lot 7 married a widow, Margaret Stewart Woodside, at the home of her parents, Robert and Mary Stewart, in Lot 6. John Dyment was one of the witnesses.
I was unable to find Alexander in the 1881 census. Margaret died before 1885.
In the 1891 census, Alexander McDougall was living in Lot 7, PEI with his second wife Charlotta (age 30) and his children Daniel C. (20), Laura B (18), and their children Mary E. (4) and John A. (2). Both of his parents were born in PEI and he was a Baptist. Alexander was a farmer.
In 1901, Alexander (53) and Sharlotte were living with children Mary E, John A, Joseph A, Janey L, and Daniel E.
