Notes

Note

Were there two daughters, Euphemia and Harriet? Or are they the same daughter? I think it was one daughter, Euphemia, called by a nickname, Effie, that was mis-heard by a minister as Hattie, or Harriet.

Euphemia, age 10, was listed with the family on the Clarendon passenger list in 1808. Harriet McLean was said to have traveled at a different time; but to have had a child in 1831, Harriet would have been no more than 20 years old when the family emigrated. Would they have left a young woman to travel on her own?

Henry Waldron married Effie McLean from Lot 16 in 1824, according to Richmond Parish records of the Presbyterian Church. There were only two children of Henry Waldron in the PEI Baptismal Index - Susannah and Alexander. Their mother was Harriet McLean. But Alexander, on his marriage record, said his mother was Euphemia.

A possibility is that one sister died young, and Henry married her sister. However, the Richmond Presbyterian and Church of England records start around 1821, and do not include a second marriage for Henry.

They had 6 children: Susannah, John, Catherine, Alexander, Hugh, and Flora, who died young.

An entry in the old Lot 13 Rentals Book suggests Euphemia died in 1863.

Her son Hugh was the head of household in 1861, in Lot 7.
