Lulu Gorrill was born 3 June 1883 in Northam and was baptized at St. James Church, Port Hill, 30 August 1883. She married Arthur Frederick Maynard 27 June 1900 at St. James Church in Port Hill. Lulu was given away by her grandfather, Wm. Hopgood Esq. and was attended by Elsie Gorrill, Miss Millie Brown and Miss Lily Maynard. The note about the wedding in the Guardian stated that the bride and groom were very popular.

Born 18 May 1874, Arthur was the son of John Maynard (1819 Kilkhampton, Cornwall-1900 Port Hill) and Flora MacLean (1829-1922) and the grandson of John Maynard and Elizabeth Elliot of Kilkhampton.

The 1901 census of Belmont and Central Lot 16, dwelling 17, family 17, shows Arthur Maynard as head, a farmer, and Lulu as his wife. Listed in the same household were Lulu's step-father Percy Ellis, who was also identified as the head of the household, Lulu's mother Josephine, and three of her brothers and sisters, Elsie, William and Reagh Gorrill. It isn't clear if the newlyweds were living with her parents, or vice versa - or if it was two separate households. Living in the next household on the census page were Lulu's grandparents.

By the time of the 1916 Census of the western provinces, the family was in Souris, Manitoba - Arthur and Lulu, with John Henry 13, Lily May 12, Arthur Reagh 11, Jane 9, Herman 6 and Wilfred 3. They were still in the Turtle Mountain Municipality of Manitoba in 1921.

Edward Frank wasn't born until after the 1921 census, which was taken in the spring of the year.

Lulu died in January 1934 at Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina. Arthur remarried after her death - he died in March 1946 in British Columbia.
