Archibald R. Stewart aged about 45 for 20 years in the employ of the Cambridge Ice Company as a driver dropped unconscious on Woodbridge St. North Cambridge about 11 o'clock this morning and later died at his home. Stewart was about to deliver some ice when he was overcome. A passing automobile took him to his home, 41 Franck St., where a physician was summoned. He soon died, however, presumably from heart failure, He leaves a wife and one daughter. Boston Globe 8 March 1916 pg 8
Archibald R. Stewart, a driver for the Cambridge Ice company, was instantly killed, Wednesday morning, while delivering ice within sight of his home, on Frank street. Mr. Stewart was alighting from the wagon when the horses started up, throwing him to the ground. The front wheels passed over his chest, killing him instantly. The deceased was one of the best known ice men in this city, having been delivering ice in North Cambridge for the past fourteen years for the Cambridge Ice company, and for eleven years previous for the Fresh Pond Ice company. He was 47 years of age and was born in Prince Edward Island. He had been a resident of Cambridge for more than twenty-five years, and was highly respected. He is survived by a wife and one child, and also leaves five brothers and three sisters. The funeral will take place this afternoon, with services at his late home. 41 Frank street, at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Woburn. Cambridge Chronicle 11 March 1916
