There were a few possible fates for this William Ramsay. He was alive in 1843, at the time of his mother's death.
There was the William Ramsay (William - 1) who married Catherine Ramsay in 1840 and died in Lot 13 in 1881 at the age of 64. Witnesses to the marriage were James and Archibald Ramsay, which would fit with this family.
