1931 - Leona’s Doll Tattles On Her School Mates

Leona Lillian MacArthur, aged 9. (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.. B. MacArjthur, of 85 I’utiiam ave., is proudly showling everyone her new doll “Betty." This week, Miss Dole hunty's fourth grade at the Houghton sch<s>l entertained “Betty” as their guest. Teacher left the. room i for a few minutes. she returned, she asked the doll how many children jhad been talking. To the class’s amazement the doll promptly counted up to ten. j Leona takes her doll, which is over 24 Inches high everywhere, and may often be seen wheeling her In Central square. The doll was received as a prize in a contest recently held by a Boston paper.
