Mann, William Keir
Narrative
Keir Mann was born in 1896, the third son of Johnstone Mann and Elizabeth McFadyen.
He inherited the family farm, and was one of the first lobster fishermen in the area. He also worked as a ship's carpenter, and as a constable with the provincial police, responsible for the enforcement for prohibition during the the 1930s (see Booze, by Clinton Morrison)
He married Ella Mae Wigmore (1894 - ), the daughter of John and Mary Wigmore, in New Brunswick in 1924. Keir and Ella had four children.
In 1932, Thomas Wigmore sued Kier and his mother for $500, said to be an outstanding loan from the late John Wigmore. Thane Campbell represented the Manns, who argued that they denied making the loan and that the statute of limitations had expired.
