My Family Tree

In the 1911 census, Sarah Jane and Edmund had the following children: Bertha (17), Emily (16), Arthur (14), Flora (12), Gertrude (10), James (8), Edith (6) and Helen (1).

From the history of Northam, There to Here, by Roy Newcombe:

Edmund Maynard (1865), son of John and Flora (MacLean) Maynard of Port Hill, married Sarah Jane MacArthur (1873) of Northam, bought this farm and had eight children:

-Maude (1893)first married Wilfred Coleman and had two children both of whom who died in infancy, second marriage was to Harry Frankel and lived in the U.S.A.
-Emily (1895) married Charles Newcombe of Northam, lived in Tyne Valley. (Refer to Roy and Muriel Newcombe.
-Arthur L. (1896), moved to Michigan, U.S.A., married Marjorie Brown and had two sons: Edmund and Lloyd.
-Flora (1898) married John Thompson of Grand River, moved to Western Canada and had four children: Wendell, Lome, Doreen and Byron.
-Gertrude (1901), moved to the U.S.A., married John Jack. (Gertie lived with John Jack in Summerside, and moved to the US after his death)
-Leigh married Pearle England (see below)
-Edith married Oliver MacKay of Tyne Valley and had five children: Jean, Francis Roger Shirley and William.
-Helen married Donald Smith of Freeland and had one son, Donald.
