There passed peacefully away to her eternal rest at her home in Knutsford in the early hours of Easter Sunday, Mrs. John Dyment at the advanced age of 71 years. She and her husband were among the first to settle in this district, and out of what was then a vast forest, hued their beautiful home of today. She was born in Bedeque and when a child moved with her parents and their family to what is now known as the Silliker homestead.

There were 11 children, of whom only three remain. All her troubles she bore with Christian fortitude and patience and submitted to the Heavenly Father's Will. She was in her usual good health within a week previous to her death and all that kind hands and tender nursing could do was of no avail and her spirit winged its flight to its Maker. She leaves to mourn their loss an aged husband, one son William on the homestead, two daughters Mrs. Wm. Wedlock of Somerville, Mass. and Mrs. Ernest Woodside of Dexter, Maine; also one adopted son, George, of Somerville, Mass; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Shaw, who very tenderly watched by her side until the last; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The funeral, which was by Rev. J. Copeland, who visited her in her illness, and who spoke very beautifully on the "Home of the Soul." Two duets were nicely rendered.. .Her remains were placed in Knutsford Cemetery alongside of her eight children, there to await the glorious resurrection.

Narrative

According to Jean Meggison's Dyment genealogy, John and Margaret were married on 24 December 1868 and had 11 children. Many died of Diptheria.

Three of the children she listed were born before their marriage: Charles 1862 –
Sarah 1863-, and Hannah 1863 – 1870. No records found, other than Sarah being in the 1881 census with the family.
