Daughter of Charles Ramsay and Rebecca Sobey.
Rebecca was living with her widower father Charles in 1871 in New Brunswick. Some members of the family returned to Prince Edward Island, and in 1881, Rebecca was living with Charity (Ramsay) Fergusson. Rebecca Ramsay married Joseph Leard in 1885 in Bedeque.
In 1891, Joseph "Farid" and his wife Rebecca, age 24, were in Lot 26 with two children, Elvie and Frederick.

Joseph and Rebecca went out west. Joseph and Rebecca "Loard" were in Calgary with Florence and Elvie in 1911.
In 1920, their son Frederick, living in Oakland, California, advertised in the Calgary newspaper, looking for his parents and sister Florence.
Lillian Rebecca Leard, aged 73, of 614 Eleventh Avenue West died this morning in hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born at Saint John, New Brunswick and had lived in Calgary for the past 32 years. Surviving are her husband, John J. Leard; two daughters, Mrs Elvie Lee of Crossfield; Mrs James Cameron of Wastina and one son, Fred Leard of South Gate, California. Calgary Herald 21 Dec 1940 pg 16
