Wellington Nelson was born on October 21 1860, the son of William Paynter and Matilda Mann.

According to the church record, he married Amelia (Millie) Bernard in 1887, which probably should be Bearisto based on their gravestone, and Millie's date of birth on the 1901 census matching that of Mary Amelia Bearisto in the PEI Baptismal Index. According to another family tree, Amelia Mary married Wellington Nelson Paynter, son of William Paynter and Matilda Mann, on 27 Jul 1887 in Malpeque, Prince, Prince Edward Island, Canada. William Paynter was a witness.

Wellington died in 1928.

In the 1921 census, Wellington (61) and Mary (61) were living in Long River with their son Charles (28), daughter in law Florence (26), and two grandchildren, Roland (8) and Thelma (3).
