Narrative

Herbert Reid was born on 1861-02-03. (he says August 12 1862 in the 1901 census), the son of William Paynter and Matilda Mann.

He married Elmira May Bernard and they had 10 children: James Everett in 1894; Emeretta in 1896; Ethel in 1898; Alma Blanche in 1899; Ada May in 1901; Herbert Oliver in 1904; George W in 1906; Gertrude in 1909; Christy Blanche in 1914; and Francis Ivan in 1917.

In the 1921 census Herbert (60), Elmira (46) and children Everett (27), Oliver (16), George (14), Gertrude (12), Blanche (7) and Francis (4) were living at home in Long River.

Herbert died in 1938.

Elmira May Bernard was born on 24 Jul 1875 in Long River, Queens, Prince Edward Island, Canada. She died on 24 Jan 1948 and was buried in 1948 in Springbrook, Queens, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
