Daughter of James and Elizabeth (McDougall) Campbell.

James Campbell, farmer of Lot 13 with widow Elizabeth, died September 1822. William Ellis, son in law of James and Elizabeth, prepared the inventory of the estate. See Early PEI Probate Records, 1786-1850, page 65; the papers were signed by his widow Elizabeth, and two of Elizabeth's sons in law, William Ellis, a ship builder and David Sullivan.

Children named on later land indentures, were Elizabeth (wife of John Ellis), Dougal (wife Jane), James (wife Ann), John, Nancy, Margaret (wife of David Sullivan), and Mary.

The first baptismal records for William Ellis' children gave their mother's name as Ann Campbell; from Ann and Sarah onward the Church record said "William Campbell and his wife Nancy Campbell."

Ellis William and wife Summerside Journal 23 December 1880, page 3, col. 3 On the 27th October, at the residence of her son, Ellerslie, after being confined to her bed for over twenty years, Mrs. Wm. Ellis, aged 78 years. Also on the 8th Dec., at the same place, her husband, Mr. Wm. Ellis, aged 82 years, leaving many friends and relations to mourn their loss. (PEI Ancestry)
